Gestoria – Driving license in Andorra

In Andorra, traffic is on the right side. For solo driving, the driver must be at least 18 years old. If you move to Andorra, you must have an Andorran license before you can drive. How to change your license once in Andorra? What about the international driving license in Andorra?

Residing in Andorra requires a national driving license

If you plan to retire or work in Andorra, you will have to change your original driving license into an Andorran license. You must go through a homologation process that will be done at the government in Andorra la Vella. It is also possible to start the process at any of the other branches present in Andorra.

Although the people in charge can speak other languages such as Spanish or French, Catalan is the one that is most used, since it is the official language of the country. It is recommended to be accompanied by a Gestoria to fully understand the subtleties of the procedures.

Farewell to the demerit point system!

Unlike in France, the Andorran license does not include any points. However, this does not mean that you will not have your license revoked if you break the Principality’s Highway Code.

However, it should be noted that Andorran driving is among the safest in the world. Drivers are respectful of others. In fact, the government of Andorra has the will to change the Highway Code with the aim of respecting nature through the efficient use of vehicles.

It would also be good to mention that the engine must be switched off when parked. Failure to do so is punishable by a fine of 60 euros.
