Time and steps to change your license
Once you have the Andorran residence, you have 12 months to change your license into an Andorran license. To do so, you will have to present some supporting documents, namely

- A certificate of residence,
- A medical certificate of less than 3 months,
- An identity photo,
- Your original driving license,
- A dedicated form to be taken from the competent administrations.
Please note that your original driving license will be retained by the Andorran administration.
What happens if the license is not converted to an Andorran license after one year?
If you miss the one-year deadline to get your foreign driver’s license approved, you will be required to retake it. That said, automatic approval may be possible for some European Union countries. However, there must be a bilateral agreement in place.
